That $150 stand mixer attachment I bought is gathering dust in my cabinet

I got talked into buying a pasta maker attachment for my KitchenAid back in March. Cost me $150 and I figured I'd use it all the time since I love fresh pasta. Well, I used it exactly twice. The first batch came out okay but the cleanup took forever with all those little nooks and crannies. Second time I tried it, the dough got stuck and I spent 20 minutes picking it out. Now it just sits there reminding me of $150 I could have spent on good flour and eggs instead. Has anyone else had luck with those attachments or is it just not worth the hassle?

... and that's exactly what happened with my ice cream maker attachment. Bought it for $80 thinking I'd be making homemade gelato every weekend. Used it once, the bowl has to freeze for 24 hours ahead of time, and then the whole thing took like an hour to churn out something that was just okay. It's been sitting in the back of my cupboard for over a year now.

I hear you on the freezer bowl thing, that's a pain. But I actually had a way better time with mine once I figured out you don't need to freeze it for a full day, just overnight works fine. And the gelato was way better than store bought to me, maybe you just got a bad recipe.
