ATM swallowed my card at 11pm on a Friday in downtown Austin
I was trying to deposit a $400 check after work and the machine just froze mid transaction, kept my card, and didn't give me a receipt. Had to cancel my weekend plans because I couldn't get a replacement card until Monday morning. Has anyone else had a bank fight you on overnight holds after their own machine messed up?

Call your bank's 24/7 line and demand a temporary card by courier.

Three years ago I did exactly that with Bank of America and the courier showed up in about 6 hours with a new card. The key is to insist on the courier option and not settle for standard mail, which they often push first. @daniel857, did you have to pay any extra fees for that service or was it completely free?
