Getting my bank to fix a simple wire transfer mistake took 11 days
I sent a payment to a vendor last month and my bank put the money in the wrong account (their fault, they admitted it). The fix should have been quick, right? Nope. It took 11 days of calling, getting bounced between the wire department and customer service, and waiting for 'internal reviews.' Each time I called, they said it was 'being worked on' but couldn't give me a real time frame. I had to keep explaining the whole story to a new person. It made me really question the idea that big banks are more efficient. Has anyone else had a simple bank error turn into a multi-week headache? What's the best way to actually get it fixed fast?

Wait, you think 11 days is fast? That's insane. The bank admitted it was their mistake, they already had the money, and it still took over a week and a half. The whole "security review" thing sounds like an excuse for a broken process. If they can move millions in seconds for a fee, they can fix their own error faster than that.

Ugh, been there! I called them every single day and it finally got pushed through. Being super annoying is the only thing that works sometimes.

Honestly, 11 days is pretty fast for a wire correction. Those systems are locked down for security. Every step needs a second set of eyes, that's why they call it a review. A small local bank would have taken way longer because they have to rely on another bank to fix it.
