Had a trust fund kid at a Denver coffee shop brag about never checking his bank statements
He said he just swipes his card and figures the bank will catch any mistakes, which made me wonder how many people out there are just handing their money over to fraudsters without a second look - has anyone else run into folks who treat their accounts like they're someone else's problem?

My buddy Marcus is exactly like this. He's got like four different subscriptions for streaming services he doesn't even watch because he just swiped his card at a party and forgot about it. I told him to check his statements once and he literally said "the bank will let me know if something's wrong." Three months later he finds out he's been paying for some random food delivery app he used one time. Hard to feel bad for people who treat their own money like it's Monopoly cash.

It's wild how some people just assume everything will work out without checking anything. I've noticed it's part of a bigger thing where folks let banks or companies handle all the thinking for them, then get surprised when something goes wrong. Makes you wonder how many other areas of life they're just trusting blind.
