Honestly, the confusion around contactless payment limits is getting out of hand.

I keep hearing folks at my local branch in Austin say they think the $250 tap-to-pay limit is a bank rule, but it's actually set by the card networks like Visa. This matters because it explains why the limit can change and isn't the same everywhere. Has your bank actually done a good job explaining this to customers?

Yeah, my bank's emails about this stuff just get lost in the spam folder. Have you tried checking your card's app settings directly? I found the exact tap limit for my Visa card buried in the digital wallet section of my banking app. It's not in an obvious place, but it's usually in there somewhere if you dig around.

Oh wow, I just saw an article about this last week! It was talking about how the limit went up in a bunch of countries but not here yet. My bank never sent me anything explaining it, I had to go looking for the info myself. It really does feel like they just expect us to figure it out.

Why do they make it so hard to find?
