Hot take: using my local credit union's app vs a big bank app is night and day
I tried to deposit a $500 check with the big bank app last week and it kept crashing, but my credit union's app did it in one try with a clear photo guide. The difference was the credit union just built a simpler, faster tool that actually works. Anyone else find their small bank's tech is way more reliable than the big names?

Spot on about the simpler tools just working better. Makes you wonder if the big banks are overcomplicating things on purpose, maybe to push you toward paid services or fees. My credit union app does the basics perfectly, no extra junk. Why do the big apps feel like they're trying to solve problems I don't even have while failing at the simple stuff? It's like they forgot what people actually use a banking app for.

Well, big banks have way more resources to fix bugs faster than a tiny credit union can.

Remember when banks just had those little deposit slips? I mean, my grandpa used to talk about how the whole thing felt solid because it was just one simple task. Now it's like the app needs to be a full entertainment system that also happens to sometimes move money. Maybe the problem is they keep adding new stuff on top of old, broken code instead of just making the deposit part work right.
