My accountant told me to stop paying off my credit card every week and let the balance post, so I tried it for a month and my credit score jumped 22 points this quarter.

She showed me my utilization ratio was actually hurting me because I was paying before the statement cut, has anyone else seen weird score swings from payment timing?

Wait, are you really chasing 22 points like it's going to change your life? I've had my score jump 50 points for no reason at all then drop 30 the next month. Unless you're literally about to buy a house or a car, this whole timing game feels like overthinking it. Plus what's the actual difference in your rates from a 720 to a 742 anyway like maybe 0.5% if you're lucky. Don't get me wrong your accountant is right about utilization but acting like this is a huge discovery is a stretch.

You're right that the difference between 720 and 742 is small, but the "50 point jumps for no reason" thing isn't quite how it works. Most people see random swings because they don't realize their statement date is different from their due date.
