My bank froze my account right before a big equipment buy
I was at the supply house in Charlotte last month ready to buy a $4,800 condenser, and my card got declined because my bank flagged the purchase as fraud. I had to call them from the parking lot and wait 20 minutes to get it unlocked. Has anyone else had a big payment blocked like that, and is there a way to warn your bank ahead of time?

My credit union in Raleigh lets me set a travel notice online for big purchases. I always log in and put in the amount and store location a day before. It takes two minutes and saves the hassle of getting blocked at checkout.

Oh man, they always save the fraud alerts for the most convenient times, don't they?

Honestly, what's the worst timing you've ever had with one of those alerts? Tbh I got locked out trying to buy groceries at midnight once. Felt like the universe was just messing with me.
