Switched from big bank to a credit union after one overdraft, never looking back
I got hit with a $34 overdraft fee last month when my paycheck landed 6 hours after a coffee charge cleared. My old bank wouldn't reverse it even though I'd been a customer for 8 years. A buddy in Houston kept telling me his credit union did same-day reversals, so I finally opened an account there. They approved me in 20 minutes and have already refunded a $12 fee without me asking. The mobile app is clunkier but the savings are real, like $200 a year in fees alone. Anyone else make the switch and notice the customer service difference is night and day?
