Talked to a bank teller about fraud alerts and realized I've been ignoring legit warnings for months
She told me she sees people like me all the time who instantly delete texts from their bank, but then miss stuff like a $1 test charge before a big hit. Has anyone else gotten better at actually reading those alerts instead of just trashing them?

Eva's right - we scroll past anything that looks like a notice without thinking.

People tune out everything important these days, not just bank texts.

Oh absolutely, I'm the queen of tuning out important stuff. I missed a dentist appointment reminder text last week because I thought it was just another "your package is delayed" alert from some random retailer. Ended up sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes after my slot, feeling like a total idiot while the hygienist gave me that look, you know the one. My brain's basically trained to filter out anything that looks vaguely official these days, and I'm pretty sure that's going to bite me eventually when I accidentally ignore something like a jury duty summons.
