That Chase branch in downtown Portland made me wait 45 minutes just to deposit cash

Walked in at 10 AM on a Tuesday and there were 3 tellers standing around doing nothing while one window was open for actual customers. Anyone else feel like banks are just giving up on basic service these days?

That 45 minute wait with three tellers standing there... did anyone actually ask a manager what they were all doing? I feel like banks these days would rather have people standing around pretending to be busy than actually opening another window. Just feels like theyre more worried about looking efficient than being efficient.

Isn't that the truth? It feels like they've cut staff to the bone, leaving just enough bodies to say windows are open, but never enough to actually move people through. We're paying for convenience and getting the slowest possible service in return.

You know what, I used to be one of those people who thought, ah they're doing their best, it can't be that bad. But honestly, after sitting in a drive thru for twenty minutes last week watching one person run around like a chicken with their head cut off, I get it now. They really did cut staff down to nothing and just hope nobody notices. Paying more for the privilege of waiting longer is just insulting at this point.
