So last Tuesday I was at the Chase on 5th and Main trying to get cash before a dentist appointment, ran my card in and the screen just froze. I'm standing there like an idiot for 2 minutes hitting buttons, then it spits out a receipt that says 'card retained for security' and the machine makes this weird beeping noise that honestly sounded like a laugh. I had to call the 800 number while standing in line behind two people with the bank teller staring at me through the glass, took 25 minutes to verify my identity and they said the card would be mailed in 7 to 10 business days. I ended up paying for the dentist with my phone wallet anyway, but the worst part was the teller told me that machine has a known glitch every time it hits a certain firmware update. Has anyone else had an ATM just hold your card hostage for no reason, or am I the only one who gets picked by the machines? I still haven't gotten my card back and it's been a week now.
