Unpopular opinion: Venmo is actually the worst payment app for real life transactions
Last month I was splitting a $48 dinner check with three friends at a restaurant in Austin. I tried to pay my share through Venmo and it took 3 business days to clear because I hadn't used it in a while and they flagged it as suspicious. Meanwhile everyone else used Cash App and their money moved instantly. Made me realize Venmo's whole social feed thing is a gimmick when the basic function is slower.

Man why did it take 3 whole days? That's wild. I always give my Venmo a quick little test send before I actually need it, that seems to keep it from locking up on me.
