Serious question, did a 3 hour job in my crawl space in Reno turn into 2 days because of one code rule?
Had to replace a busted vapor barrier under my house in Reno and figured it was a weekend job. Turns out the inspector would not sign off unless I ran a 6 mil liner up the foundation wall 6 inches and sealed it, which meant moving all the ductwork I just put in. Half the guys I asked said just staple it and roll, the other half said skip it and the next owner eats the cost. So which is it, is pulling a permit on crawl space work worth the hassle or do you just do it and hope nobody looks?
