Shoutout to the guy who proved me wrong about solar panels in Ohio

I used to think solar was a scam in cloudy places. My neighbor in Columbus slapped panels on his roof 4 years ago. Last month he showed me his electric bill: negative $47. I checked his meter myself. That pretty much settled it. Has anyone here seen similar results in a state that gets less sun?

MAN that's wild! My buddy lives up in Erie, Pennsylvania which gets even less sun than Ohio, and he put panels on his garage two years ago. I was skeptical as hell but last winter he sent me a screenshot of his negative bill with a smirk emoji. He's been bragging ever since about his "free money" and honestly I can't even argue with the numbers he's showing me. It's CRAZY how much the tech has changed even in the last few years.

@hugo825 tell your buddy he owes me a drink for every time I've heard him brag about that negative bill. Must be nice getting paid to keep the lights on while the rest of us are out here shoveling snow off our driveways. I bet he's already planning his "free money" vacation to somewhere sunny just to rub it in.
