Spent $250 on a book about the 2008 crash that changed my view on banks
I bought 'The Big Short' by Michael Lewis after a customer told me it was basically banned from his finance class. It wasn't the movie, the actual book. Reading how the whole system was rigged to fail, and how the guys who saw it coming were ignored, made me look at my own mortgage differently. Anyone else read something that made a 'settled' historical event feel totally different?

Read "The Big Short" last year. Made me realize my own bank was screwing me too.

Wait, you actually changed your mind about banks after reading that? Me too honestly, I used to think my credit union was looking out for me (naive, right?) but that book made me go through my mortgage paperwork with a fine tooth comb. Found a bunch of junk fees and a variable rate I barely understood when I signed it. Kinda embarrassing to admit I just trusted them to do the right thing.
