That week in July when my fence crew got rained out 4 days straight

Last July up in Bellingham, WA we had this freak storm system that just sat over us. I lost like $2800 in wages because we couldn't dig post holes or pour concrete with the ground turning into soup. The worst part was having to call 3 homeowners and tell them their backyard projects were getting delayed, one lady actually cried on the phone. Has anyone else had a run of bad luck that totally killed your income for a week?

That rain turned your materials into a muddy mess too I bet. Had a similar thing happen to my concrete guy last fall up in Mount Vernon - we had to wait an extra 6 days for the ground to dry out enough to pour a slab, and by then the customer was calling every day checking on us. The real killer nobody talks about is the rebar rusting in the wet ground if you don't cover it right, that stuff can cost you another day grinding off surface rust before you can pour.

Read an article about how weather patterns are getting more unpredictable. Sucks.

Yeah no kidding. @abby_black Ive started keeping an emergency bag in my trunk with blankets, a first aid kit, and bottled water after getting caught in a flash flood last summer. Also got a weather radio for the house since phone alerts dont always work when you lose signal. Little stuff like that makes a big difference when things go sideways.
