Thought masks were selfish until a nurse in Cleveland set me straight
I spent most of 2023 rolling my eyes at people wearing masks in stores, figured it was all theater and nobody was really at risk. Then in February my buddy Dave got a kidney transplant at Cleveland Clinic, and his nurse pulled me aside and asked me to mask up before visiting him. She showed me his med chart, his immune numbers were basically zero, and she said one cough from me could put him back in the hospital for a month. I felt like a jerk for every dumb joke I made about masks that whole year. Has anyone else had a moment where someone in a hospital just quietly flipped your whole view?
