Tried that dirt cheap grocery hack from a banned forum thread for 30 days and my food bill dropped $87 but I felt like garbage
A while back I read a thread on here about eating only shelf stable stuff and beans for a month to cut costs, so I gave it a shot in my apartment in Columbus. First two weeks were fine and my grocery bill went from $240 to $153, which I was pretty proud of. But by week three I was tired all the time and my workouts at the gym were total trash. I kept a little log and noticed I was eating almost no fresh veggies or fruit, just rice, canned stuff, and peanut butter. Turns out saving $87 a month is not worth feeling like you got hit by a truck every afternoon. Has anyone else tried one of these extreme budget food experiments and had it backfire like this?
