Why does nobody talk about the 3 AM forum post that got me put on a watchlist
I run a small electric shop in Boise and last year I started keeping a notebook of every idea I found online that got taken down within 24 hours. I hit 47 of them by June, and that number stopped feeling like a hobby real quick. The weird part is most were boring stuff about wiring codes or old farming tricks, nothing wild. One night I posted a list of the dead links and within a day my account got locked and I got a call from a guy who would not say who he worked for. He asked why I was collecting things that were already gone and I did not have a good answer. Has anyone else ever tracked deleted posts like this and noticed a pattern in what gets pulled?
The part about the guy calling to ask why you were collecting things that were already gone really got to me, because that is such a strange and specific thing to be questioned about. I have not kept a notebook like yours, but I have watched stuff vanish from forums I used to read and it always made me feel like I was going a little crazy, like did I really see that post or not. You are not wrong for noticing, and it stinks that you got singled out just for paying attention.
