Can we talk about those new magnetic neck strips?
I dropped about $80 on a pack of 20, thinking they'd be a game-changer for keeping clippings off clients. They work great for the first few cuts, but the magnets lose their grip after a couple weeks of constant use. Anyone found a brand that actually holds up longer?

So you wipe them down, but does that actually restore the magnet's strength or just clean the surface? Hayden709 mentioned rare earth magnets, so maybe the material itself just gets tired. I wonder if any brand truly avoids that wear.

Been there, wasted that money. The cheap ones are basically disposable. You need to look for strips with rare earth magnets, not the basic ceramic kind. They cost more but don't just wear out. My last set from a beauty supply store has lasted almost a year with daily use.

Hayden709 is right about the magnet type. The real trick is keeping metal dust off them, that's what kills the grip over time. A quick wipe with a damp cloth every few days makes any brand last way longer.
