Clipper blade keeps burning my clients after 3 years of use

I've had this Andis clipper since 2019 and last week it started feeling hot after just one haircut. Burned a guy's neck at 2pm and he was PISSED, had to comp his whole $35 cut. Anyone else have a clipper suddenly die on them mid-summer like this?

Hold up - how often are you actually oiling the blade between cuts? Sounds like you might be one of those folks who just sprays a little lube on there and calls it good, but if the blade's getting that hot after three years, it could be the blade itself wearing down or maybe even the clipper motor starting to go. I mean, I've seen guys run their clippers for years on end without changing the blade once and then act surprised when it starts burning people. Have you tried swapping out the blade completely to see if it's the blade or the clipper that's the problem? That would tell you a lot right there.

Did you use the same blade lube you've always been using?

Have you tried a different brand of lube to see if that makes a difference? I've been there with a blade heating up and it's honestly super frustrating to troubleshoot.
