Dropped $180 on a scissor sharpening service that made all 6 of my shears worse
Mailed my whole set to a guy in Dallas who swore he hand-hones convex edges, and every pair came back pulling to the left on wet hair. I lost the money plus two weeks of work while I shipped them out for a second fix. Anyone got a sharpener they actually trust with thinning shears?
Man, convex edge sounds fancy but if the guy can't get the tension right after honing they'll pull every time. I'd ask the next sharpener to test cut on wet hair before shipping back. Also keep one cheap backup pair around so you're never stuck for two weeks again.
