Finally compared my old clippers to a new set side by side and wow

I've been using the same clippers for like 8 years man. Last week I borrowed a buddy's newer model and did half a fade with mine and half with his. The difference in cut smoothness was night and day, no pulling or skipping at all. Made me realize I was just fighting my old blades for years without knowing it. Anybody else put off upgrading their tools way longer than they should have?

Honestly, that smoothness difference is real but it might not just be the age of the blades. In my experience, how often you clean and oil them makes a huge difference too. A brand new set straight from the box is always gonna feel smoother than a dusty old one that hasn't been lubed in a while. Not saying you're wrong though, just something to think about if you're still using the old ones a bit longer.

Yeah "night and day" is exactly how I felt when I finally upgraded my drill.

@kim191 jokes on me, I probably haven’t oiled anything since I bought it.
