My buddy had this wild cowlick right at the front of his hairline for years, drove him nuts. He went to this tiny shop in Philly where the barber just kept the comb wet and used the tension from the hair dryer, not the heat. It was all about the angle of the pull, like he was training the hair. Took forever but it finally laid flat, my friend said it was like watching a magic trick.

My uncle had a barber in Baltimore who did something similar. He used a fine tooth comb and cold water, said heat just fries the hair. The trick was holding the dryer about six inches away and pulling the hair straight down for a full minute. It looked ridiculous but it actually worked.

Baltimore barbers really know how to train stubborn hair.
