I finally noticed I was angling my clippers wrong after 4 years

I was wondering why my fades kept looking uneven on the back of the head, especially on rounder skull shapes. Then a customer asked me why I was lifting my wrist so high and it clicked that I was tilting the blade too much. Anyone else have a basic thing like grip or angle that took way too long to fix?

Oh man, I feel this so hard. It took me almost three years to realize I was holding my trimmers at a stupid angle that was messing up my blend lines. I kept blaming the clippers or the guards but it was just me the whole time. It's kind of embarrassing when you finally figure it out and see how obvious it was. But hey, at least you caught it now instead of going another four years, right?

My buddy Jesse told me he spent like 2 years doing front fades with his clipper handle pointing sideways instead of straight down, and only realized when a barber friend laughed at him mid-cut. @michaelchen nailed it about blaming the tools instead of your own hands.
