I had a guy insist I use a #000 clipper on his whole head...
So this dude comes in last Friday, says he wants a fade but then points at my clipper guard rack and says "start with the zero, no guard." I asked him three times if he was sure because he had a solid 2 inches of hair on top. He got kinda huffy and said "just do it, man." So I did a #000 all over and he looked like a cue ball. Then he gets real quiet, stares in the mirror for a solid 10 seconds, and goes "oh... I thought you could blend it somehow." Has anyone else had a customer argue with you about a guard size and then get mad at the result?

Did he think clippers come with a magic wand attachment or something?

Bet, had a guy ask me to just "clean it up" then got mad when I took too much off.

i feel like people watch too many barber videos on social media where dudes somehow make a zero look like a medium fade with wizardry and think that's normal. it's not magic, it's just a blade scraping hair off your head. no guard means no hair, period. like what was the expectation here? that the clippers would only grab some of the hair and leave the rest? that's not how physics works my guy. honestly half the time customers just don't listen when you explain stuff and then act shocked when the inevitable happens. it's a barber shop not a miracle factory.
