Just realized straight razors work better than disposable blades for smooth shaves.

They offer more precision and cause less skin trouble.

But isn't there a steep learning curve? Heard you need to hold it at a much steeper angle than a safety razor.

The angle is definitely a big change from a safety razor. It feels unnatural at first and you might nick yourself a couple times. What helped me was using almost no pressure and letting the razor's weight do the work. After a few shaves, your hand just finds the right spot without thinking. The result is usually a closer shave once you get past that initial hump.

That "steep learning curve" seems overblown. Brian854 made it sound worse than it is.
