My clipper motor gave out mid-fade yesterday

I was doing a skin fade on a regular client and my main cordless clipper just died. No warning, no weird sound, it just stopped. I had to grab my old backup pair, which are way louder and not as sharp, to finish the cut. It really threw off my rhythm. Has anyone else had a Wahl Magic Clip just quit like that, and is it worth trying to fix the motor?

Yeah that's the worst, kills your whole flow. I agree with @mila_perry13, fixing the motor is usually more trouble than it's worth. I'd just grab a new one and keep the old pair for parts.

Honestly, that sounds like a normal Tuesday in this job. Tools break, it's just part of the deal. I've had clippers die at way worse times, like right before a big holiday rush. It's annoying for sure, but I wouldn't call it a huge deal. For the motor, it's probably cheaper and way less hassle to just buy a new one than try to fix it yourself.
