PSA: the old barber at the shop on 5th said one thing about my comb that stuck with me
I was watching this guy cut hair for 30 years finish a taper and he told me he keeps two combs, one for cutting and one that never touches a head of hair. He said the cutting comb gets washed but the other one stays clean for checking lines and it keeps him from dragging oil and loose hair across a fresh blend. Do you guys actually separate your combs like that or is it overkill?
Man, I always thought keeping two combs was just old school guys being extra but now I get it. I used to wipe my comb on my pants and call it good (gross, I know) and my fades always had that little smudge right at the blend line. This guy has been cutting for 30 years so he probably figured out stuff the rest of us are still learning the hard way. I'm grabbing a second comb this week, no joke.
