Rant: My clipper blade gap took 4 hours to sort out this week
I bought a new set of clippers last Tuesday, and the fade was coming out patchy no matter what I did. Checked the blade tension, oiled it, cleaned it, still garbage. Took me four hours total before I realized the factory set the blade gap way too wide on the left side. A little screwdriver twist fixed it in ten seconds. Has anyone else dealt with a brand new tool arriving with a bad factory calibration? That seems like something they should test before shipping.

Three separate sets of hands checked my last brand new trimmer before I even touched it, and it still came out of the box with the zero gap set so tight it sounded like a dying mosquito. But four hours, man, that is some serious dedication to a bad factory job. I get it though, you blame yourself first, you think you forgot how to do a simple fade, you watch three YouTube videos about tension screws you already adjusted. Then you finally look at the thing sideways and see the blade sitting crooked like it was assembled on a Monday. I've had more luck buying used clippers from strangers than trusting the "tested" sticker on a new box. Maybe they test them on a wig made of wet cardboard and call it good.

Four hours, man, that is some serious dedication to a bad factory job" really hit me. @grant.nina, did you end up sending that one back or did you just fix it yourself and keep it? I'm always curious if people actually go through the return process or just accept the struggle.
