Was skeptical about clipper oil alternatives for years until a repair guy set me straight

For 15 years I always used the standard clipper oil from the beauty supply store at $8 a bottle. Last month a repairman working on my Andis Master showed me he uses straight sewing machine oil from the craft store. He said it's the same viscosity and costs about $3 for a bottle that lasts twice as long. Has anyone else tried this or am I asking for trouble down the road?

Funny how once you start looking, you see that same overpriced convenience trap everywhere you turn.

Is it just me or does this whole thing feel like it's spreading faster than we realize? I mean, I saw a tiny corner store near me selling a loaf of bread for like 5 bucks the other day. It's wild how they're banking on people being too tired or rushed to go anywhere else. Makes you really start questioning every quick stop you make.

feel you on this. its like once you notice it you cant unsee it. i swear every other spot in my neighborhood is charging double for the same stuff you could get at a normal store. dont get me wrong i get that convenience costs but it feels like theyre taking advantage at this point. really makes me side eye places i used to just pop into without thinking.
