Pro tip: Warming up before a long smoke session saves my shoulders now

Back in the day, we'd just jump right into tending the pit for hours. Now I do a few arm circles first, and it keeps the aches away.

Yeah I always thought it was silly but the stiffness got so bad I tried it. Totally changed my mind.

Last week at the smokehouse, I saw a guy doing full yoga poses before his shift. I get being sore, but are we really at the point where we need a pre-workout routine for grilling? My dad worked construction for 30 years and just cracked his knuckles before lifting beams. Now people are talking about wrist stretches like it's physical therapy. Maybe I'm old school, but it seems a bit much for handling meat.

Take that a step further and throw in some shoulder rolls and wrist stretches too. Makes a huge difference when you're handling heavy grates or moving full briskets. Honestly feels like a cheat code now.
