Almost got burned by a fake cash drop at the 7-Eleven on 3rd street last night
I was working my usual closing shift when this dude comes in with a big stack of 20s that looked totally legit until I held them up to the light and saw they had no security strip. My coworker told me later these fake bills have been showing up at gas stations all over the area for the past 2 weeks. Any other night workers here seen something weird with their registers lately?

Gotta watch out for those fake bills, especially on overnight shifts when you might not be as alert. Sorry you almost got burned - that's scary how real they can look until you actually check them.

Wait, some of those overnight counterfeiters are actually adding security features to make them feel real? That's a whole new level of sketchy, like they're basically making prop money that passes the casual glance test. I saw a video where someone showed a fake bill that had the little color-shifting ink and even a watermark, but the paper was all wrong (too slick or something). It's getting crazy how much effort they're putting into these things, I'd probably fall for one if I wasn't paying close attention.

Reminds me of the time my buddy tried to pay me back with a fake 50 he got from a street vendor selling fake watches. He didn't even know it was fake until we tried to buy pizza with it and the guy behind the counter laughed at us. The paper felt like printer paper, super smooth, no texture at all. We ended up taping it to his fridge as a joke, but now I double check every bill that comes my way.
