Figured out the card reader delay at the register after 8 months

Customers kept saying the chip reader was broken when it really just needed a 2-second pause after the beep before pulling the card, and I finally timed it out during a slow Tuesday shift, has anyone else found that the 'beep' lies about when it's actually done?

Heard a repair guy say those readers beep early, then take two seconds to actually read it.
