Hit 10,000 transactions behind the register and almost walked out

I count every single order I ring up on a little notepad. Hit 10,000 last Tuesday at the coffee shop on 5th and Main. That number stopped me cold because it meant I've heard 'can I get a refund?' 400 times, at least. Why does it matter? Because no one celebrates the boring milestones, only the big sales goals. Has anyone else tracked a random work number just to see how much patience you really have?
