I always rolled my eyes at regulars who ordered 'just a plain burger,' then one guy at table 6 explained why
I work at a diner in Omaha and for two years I judged anyone who sent back a burger with too much on it. Then this older guy came in every Tuesday and always got his plain with nothing but salt, so one day I asked him why. He said he used to drive a truck and after a bad acid reflux scare he had to strip his food down to basics just to eat without pain, and now he actually tastes the beef instead of covering it up. Honestly it made me rethink how quick I am to assume a customer is just being picky. Has anyone else had a regular change how you see a certain order?
