I finally bought a $40 commercial grade floor squeegee for the kitchen and it was a complete waste

Everyone swears by those big rubber squeegees with the metal handles for cleaning up spills fast, but after using it for two weeks on a greasy tile floor, I'm back to my old mop. The squeegee just pushed the grease around and left streaks worse than before, so has anyone else tried these and had them fail on anything other than plain water?

Honestly, "pushed the grease around and left streaks worse than before" is exactly what happened to me. I tried one of those ones with the fancy angled handle thinking it would be amazing for the kitchen, but nope, it just smeared the grease and food bits into a thinner layer that dried into this nasty film. Tbh, I think those squeegees are only good for smooth, dry floors or maybe just water, not actual kitchen messes. I went back to my old mop too after a week and a half of fighting with it. Ngl, it feels like a scam when everyone online makes them sound like magic.

Yeah same here. I was one of those people swearing by them for like a year without really using one on anything messy. Then I tried it on the kitchen floor after frying bacon and it was just a grease smear party. Mop all the way now.
