Wow, my friend did that and it changed her whole outlook.

Flip it around and ask if the friends who didn't have that experience are still stuck in the same rut. Sometimes just one person's shift can make everyone else feel pressure to follow along or get left behind. It's the quiet ones who usually notice the biggest change isn't even the one that got talked about.
