That delivery driver who asked to use our bathroom and then tried to order a sandwich
I was working the register at a diner in Tulsa last Tuesday when a DoorDash driver comes in, asks to use our staff bathroom, and then walks up to the counter like he's a customer... he actually tried to order a club sandwich while his pickup was sitting there getting cold. Has anyone else had random people treat your workplace like a rest stop and a restaurant at the same time?

i mean, "total lack of common sense" is putting it mildly, but what i really wanna know is, did the guy actually look around and see his pickup bag sitting there while he placed his order? like, was he just that checked out or did he seem to think it was totally normal? idk, maybe it's just me but it makes me wonder if these gig workers get so used to being in restaurants that they blur the line between customer and employee.

The DoorDash driver actually tried to order a sandwich while his pickup was sitting there? I'm sorry but that's completely insane to me. I work nights at a hospital and the amount of delivery people who act like our ER waiting room is a personal lounge is ridiculous. But trying to order food while you're supposed to be delivering someone else's order just shows a total lack of common sense. Your pickup was getting cold, the customer was probably waiting, and this guy thinks he has time for a club sandwich? That level of cluelessness is honestly impressive in the worst way.
