That time I offered a free coffee refill to the wrong guy
I work at a coffee kiosk in a mall in Denver, and last week a guy came back with his cup asking for a refill. I smiled and said "sure, that'll be 50 cents" like we always do. He stared at me and said "I bought this cup at a different kiosk across town, it's not even your chain." I just stood there for a second holding the empty cup, not knowing what to say. I gave him the refill for free anyway because I was too confused to argue. Has anyone else had someone try to pull something that was less a scam and more just weird?

Is it just me or does this kind of stuff happen way more than it should? I swear people get so caught up in their own little world they forget basic stuff like, oh I don't know, what store they're even in. Like I've had someone try to return a product to my shop that was clearly bought at a totally different place, and they just looked at me like I was the crazy one for pointing it out. It's almost like a weird brain glitch where the routine overrides reality. You handled it perfectly though, sometimes it's just easier to go along with it and save the headache.
