That Tuesday morning rush when everything went right for once

I work at a deli counter in a grocery store in Columbus and last month we had a Tuesday that was just insane in a good way. Usually the morning rush is chaos with people barking orders and the slicer jamming up, but that day the line was 15 deep and every single person was patient and nice. One lady even brought her kid around to watch me slice the roast beef because he was fascinated by the machine. I got every order right, the scale didn't act up, and I finished wrapping the last pound of Swiss cheese at exactly 10:30 when the rush died down. It felt like being on a roll in a video game or something. My coworker Dave said he hadnt seen the counter that peaceful since before the pandemic. Has anyone else ever had a shift that just clicked perfectly like that?

Got a similar vibe once when I was working at a coffee shop and we had this perfect lull between rushes where I actually had time to clean the espresso machine and restock all the syrups without anyone interrupting. Felt like a little victory lap. Funny how those perfect shifts just happen out of nowhere, makes you forget all the bad ones.

Wait @elizabethn56 you actually had time to restock ALL the syrups during a shift? That's wild, I don't think I ever managed that without someone yelling for a refill mid-pour lol.
