Tipped off a coworker about using a hair dryer to thaw frozen AC lines on a roof in Dallas last July and he said I saved his service call
He was about to waste 45 minutes with a heat gun so I showed him a cheap hotel hair dryer speeds it up just as fast and we were done in 10 minutes, anyone else have a weird tool hack like that?

I mean I get where you're coming from but honestly a cheap hotel hair dryer sounds like a recipe for trouble. Those things aren't built for outdoor use and the moisture from thawing lines could short it out or worse. Heat guns are slower but they're actually designed for that kind of job, you know? I'd rather spend the extra 35 minutes than explain to my boss why I fried a motor on a roof.

Yeah "short it out or worse" is basically my nightmare with that setup. Just not worth the risk.
