A customer's carbon seatpost sheared clean off at the clamp last Tuesday

It was a 2021 model year frame, and the rider was just cruising on flat ground. No crash, no big hit. The post was torqued to spec with a proper wrench, but it had been in the frame for about two years. I think it was a case of slow carbon creep and maybe some grit in the seat tube acting like sandpaper. We had to cut the stub out with a hacksaw blade. Has anyone else seen a carbon post fail like this without a clear impact?

Two years is nothing for a part that should last.

My 2019 Diverge did the same thing.
