Called an old mechanic buddy about my Park truing stand and he laughed at me

I spent $250 on a Park Tool TS-2.2 but my buddy swears by the old Minoura stand he got for $40 at a garage sale. I set up the Park and it's solid but man, that thing took up half my bench space. Anyone else drop big cash on a tool and wonder if the cheap option would've been fine?

Worry more about fixing bikes and less about who spent what on a stand man. Does the Park make your wheels rounder or your bank account lighter?

Remembered I had a fancy stand gathering dust in the garage for years, thought it made me look like a real pro. Your post made me pull it out, set it up, and actually paid attention to how much space it took up and how little I used it. Sold it at a yard sale last month for twenty bucks and now I just flip the bike upside down like I did in high school, works fine. So you got me, I was wrong about needing all that gear.
