Can we talk about how a worn chain ring can chew through a new chain in under 200 miles?
I picked this up from the Park Tool repair book and it blew my mind, a hooked tooth will stretch a fresh chain past 0.5 percent in a couple hundred miles no matter how clean you keep it. I checked a commuter bike at the shop with a shark-finned ring and the chain was toast after 180 miles. Anyone else see drivetrains eat chains way faster than the wear gauge predicts?
