Debate: do you lube chains with the bike on a stand or flip it upside down?
I was at a group ride in Denver last month and watched a guy flip his road bike upside down on the grass to lube the chain. I always use a stand so nothing gets dirty or messed up. He swore flipping it is faster and you can spin the cranks easier. Which way do you do it and why?

Denver guy clearly never had a bird poop on his saddle mid-ride.

My buddy had a pigeon unload on his handlebars right at a stoplight downtown. He tried to wipe it off with his hand and somehow got it on his sunglasses. Rode the next ten miles with his glasses on his helmet because he didn't want to look through bird smudge. Couldn't even scrub it off with his shirt later, had to use dish soap at home.
