Hot take: I mocked fixies until I built one for a commuter.
The simplicity won me over after a week of riding.

Honestly, the biggest win for me was just not having to think about it. My old geared bike felt like a fussy pet that needed constant attention. I'd show up to work with grease on my pants at least once a month from some chain drama. Now it's just get on and go, which is perfect because I'm barely awake for my morning ride anyway.

Alright, hold on. What exactly felt simple? Was it just having fewer parts to worry about, or did it actually solve a specific headache your old commuter bike gave you every single week?
