I finally figured out why my chain kept dropping on the big ring
Last week after three rides in a row with the chain falling off, I took a closer look at my derailleur setup. In my experience, 90% of drivetrain issues happen because of cable tension or limit screws. I had my H limit screw backed out too far, letting the derailleur push past the big ring. Any of you found a sneaky cause for chain drops that took you way too long to spot?

Picked up a bent hanger once that was so subtle I almost missed it (maybe 2mm out of true). Took me way too long to realize a tiny crash I'd forgotten about was the real culprit, not the limit screws at all.

@norag66 dude ive been there. that tiny misalignment drives you nuts chasing ghosts in the derailleur.

On the flip side, sometimes a perfect hanger can hide a slightly bent derailleur cage that does the same thing... Had that happen once and it drove me nuts until I swapped the whole thing and the problem vanished. The subtle stuff just finds new ways to mess with you, especially when you assume the obvious parts are straight.
