Saw a huge difference after swapping cable housing on a customer's old Trek

Had a guy bring in a 2010 Trek 1.2 that shifted like garbage. Cables were original, housing was all crusty. I swapped out the whole set with Jagwire compressionless housing and new stainless cables. Cost him about $35 in parts and 45 minutes of my time. Came back a week later saying it felt like a new bike. Anyone else notice how much smoother compressionless housing makes older shifters feel?

@jakeb25 Honestly compressionless housing is a game changer for older stuff. That 45 minute job is totally doable if you know what you're doing though.

Oh wow, that's actually super impressive if true. @jakeb25 I bet most people thinking it's quick don't realize you have to snake the new cable through the whole bike frame without snagging it on anything. And you gotta carefully route it past the bottom bracket and all that. Plus, if you're doing both shift cables and brake hoses at the same time, you're basically doing a complete rebuild of the bike's nervous system. 45 minutes might be doable for a pro on a simple hardtail, but throw in internal routing or a complicated frame and it's gonna take way longer. I'd say that time is for an experienced mechanic with a super basic setup, not the average person at home.
